Quite some time ago I discovered that i enjoyed supporting live music technically.
I took the “stage techniques” course at Kunsthumaniora Brussel.
Although as a child I often went along to my parents' performances and I was already making music on the computer, it was at this school that the interest in the profession was born.
For the first time there, I learned how to work with a mixing desk and all peripheral equipment.
We were also taught about all types of cables, lighting, electricity and much more.
From 2018 to 2021, I took the course “stage techniques in apprenticeship” at Syntra in Antwerp.
Here I did 4 years of internship as a stage technician where I was deployed in all 7 theaters of the VZW de Rand.
Every day I helped with the preparations, technical maintenance and setting up and dismantling of various performances and concerts.
I really enjoyed the freedom, creativity, nice colleagues and irregular working hours.
After completing this education, I wanted to follow my passion and become even better at live sound.
Several experienced sound engineers I met during my internship advised me to continue my studies at PXL-Music in Hasselt:
A professional bachelor's program focusing on music and engineering, completely where my interests lay.
In 2021, I took the admission tests and was admitted.
For me, one of the most fun things to do remains making a front of house mix.
Making all the sounds coming from the stage sound good and arranging the balance and timbre is the most interesting work for me.
I currently have my own mixing board, waves setup and microphone collection that I use for the bands I work with.
This allows me to do PA rehearsals and take the sound to the next level.
